I think we need more voices like this to help guide the UM church away from the precipice of moral relativism and intellectual laziness.

United Methodists who pay attention to what is said and done by those ostensibly representing United Methodism in the Washington political realm are understandably apprehensive about the future of this denomination. Losing a source like MethodistThinker may represent one more nail in the coffin.

Thanks for posting my comment on the Worldwide Nature of the Church amendments two years ago. Thanks also for providing the text of the amendments.

As a fellow Lay Speaker with a background somewhat parallel to yours and mutual friends among the Good News board members, I’ve long wished we could get together for direct discussions. It will happen here or in Heaven. Meantime, busy-ness expands to overflow the time available.
